There are three factors which played a significant part in my desire to be a Facilitator. Firstly, I love nature and find great comfort in the gentle, continuous rhythm of the changing seasons. Secondly, I know that walking provides me with a sense of peace and calm; I like the steady forward motion. Thirdly, I am passionate about contributing to others, wanting to support people find their voice and for that unique voice to be heard.

I found Fresh Air Fridays when I was looking for something to keep my head above water in an emotional sense. I recognised in myself a pattern of mental ill-health that sometimes tipped over into depression, which I have addressed in various ways over the years. I was a Fresh Air Fridays member before I trained to become a facilitator, launching my first session exactly 2 years after attending a taster session.

My ongoing involvement in Fresh Air Fridays supports me to take responsibility for my total wellbeing. It provides me with the freedom, structure and support to create the changes I want in any area of my life. The biggest change so far was admitting to myself that I no longer wanted to be a Speech and Language Therapist after nearly 14 years in the profession. My job was a huge part of how I defined and valued myself and I wondered what would be left if I did not have that. The short answer is plenty! I am so inspired by what Fresh Air Fridays makes available to me that I want to make this available to you too. As a Facilitator I am very much on the journey with you, exploring the themes for myself, engaging in the discussions and practicing the skills which allow me to be the best version of myself more of the time.

Fresh Air Fridays is an opportunity to experience some physical and emotional space just for you. It creates opportunities to make small, manageable and effective changes, which might be minor tweaks or major transformations. Changes that could be the key to having the life you want and a life you love.

I believe that everyone possesses the answers to their own life’s questions even when it feels that sometimes the opposite might be true. Often all it takes is for someone to ask the right questions and truly hear the reply. I am committed to supporting you to find your own answers, answers that are right for you; seeing and reflecting your greatness until you can see it for yourself.
